HOW DO I TRIM MY DUTY BELT TO SIZE?Updated 10 months ago
To trim your Duty Belt system to size, follow the steps below or sizing instructional video:
*All Dual Belt systems use the same instructions. This includes Battle Belts, Duty Belts, Competition Belts, and Executive Protection Belts*
1. Size Outer Belt
- Line up the measuring tape next to the outer belt, find pant size on measuring tape & cut on the mark.
- Example: If your pant size is 36", cut the outer belt at the 36" mark.
2. Size Inner Velcro Belt
- Line up the measuring tape next to the inner belt, find pant size on measuring tape, subtract 1" & cut the inner belt at the mark.
- Example: If your pant size is 36", cut the inner belt at the 35" mark.
3. Attach Buckle to Outer Belt
- Back out the set screws on the back of the buckle, insert the cut end of the outer belt into the buckle receptacle, clamp teeth down firmly & gently tighten the set screws until flush. Do not overtighten or force the set screws.
4. Try Belts on for Size
- First, feed inner belt through your belt loops, attach the 2 velcro sides of the inner belt & center the hex material section over your zipper. There should not be any velcro belt visible behind the 4" hex material section. If there is, remove & trim off that amount.
- Next, place the buckle on the right edge of the hex material section & attach the outer belt around your waist overtop the inner belt.
- Feed the tip of the belt through the buckle & pull snug. Use the included tip keeper to secure the tip of the belt.
5. Final Step
- If you can't make your belt tight enough, it's too long. Remove the outer belt & buckle, then cut an inch at a time until ideal fit is reached.
- Last, singe or trim excess fibers from the cut end of the inner velcro belt & attach metal clip to the cut end of the inner belt.
